MonaLisa Touch®

During hormonal changes, pre-menopause, after cancer treatment, or even after child birth, many women suffer from vaginal discomfort such as dryness, burning, or urinary incontinence. This is most often caused by atrophic vaginitis: a condition that can adversely affect your lifestyle and put a strain on your most important relationships.

Experience Vaginal Rejuvenation

The MonaLisa Touch is one of the most exciting advancements in sexual health in decades. With a few quick and painless treatments, countless women have found revitalized lubrication, reintensified sexual stimulation, and a desire for, and openness to sexual intimacy that they assumed was gone forever.

Dr. Gittens was trained on the MonaLisa Touch laser by Dr. Mickey Karram of Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, who brought the procedure to the United States. As a urologist and former assistant professor in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Gittens is specially trained in sexual medicine and has safely and effectively treated many women with the MonaLisa Touch.

Why the Philadelphia Center for Sexual Medicine?

Dr. Gittens founded the Philadelphia Center for Sexual Medicine to provide patients with a place to discretely address their sexual medical concerns. The center focuses on complete vaginal and sexual health, unlike other practices, obstetric and gynecology offices that focus on the procedure itself. Vaginal dryness for instance, can be associated with many other conditions such as: hormone deficiency, pain with intercourse, and low sexual desire or lack of orgasms.

At PCSM, we don't treat your symptoms with the MonaLisa Touch Laser. Dr. Gittens himself spends a significant amount of time with each of his patients in order to make an accurate diagnosis and decide the best treatment plan for the best results. If needed, we also provide help with problems with desire orgasm and bioindentical hormone replacement.

How Mona Lisa Touch it Works

The MonaLisa Touch is a fractional CO2 laser that gently stimulates the production of the vaginal wall tissue improving functionality. The MonaLisa Touch treatment takes just 45 seconds, requires no medications and is painless. It is a minimally invasive treatment that is performed in the office and requires no anesthesia.

For maximum benefit it is performed in three treatments, each approximately four to six weeks apart. This proven technology restores the tone to the vagina, increases blood flow and lubrication. It promotes vaginal lining revitalization and the return of vaginal health.

The treatment is designed to stimulate and promote the regeneration of collagen fibers and the restoration of hydration and elasticity within the vaginal lining. The new collagen results in increasing moisture, elasticity and improving lubrication. It also returns the pH of the vagina back to the levels of before the reduction of estrogen with the potential effect of decreasing urinary tract infections.

At PCSM, we adjust the settings of the MonaLisa Touch for each woman.

The video below illustrates how the MonaLisa Touch works:
