The Hormone Replacement Specialist

At Rockwell Centers for Sexual Medicine and Wellness we provide expert care in hormonal management and offer hormonal replacement therapy for women. Dr Gittens, fellowship-trained in hormone therapy, he is uniquely qualified to treat women with hormone imbalance or deficiency.  These imbalances can occur with testosterone, estrogen, thyroid progesterone, DHEA,  DHT and pregnolone.

What Are Hormones?

Hormones are molecules that are released by certain organs in the body. When these hormones reach the the intended organ  they elicit a number of different responses. Some examples of the responses are: how we feel emotionally and physically, sexual function, our metabolism, protein synthesis and cellular healing. As we age, many of our hormones decline and can lead to any number of symptoms.

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)

Are you looking for hormonal replacement therapy for women? As we age  the ability to make hormones decline or may be diminished completely. For other women who do make hormones they hormones may not be balanced.  Both unbalanced and low hormones can lead to a number of problems such as low libido, weight gain,  difficulty getting sexually aroused, uncomfortable sex, mood swings and depression during the time of your period.

All types of HRT for all types of women

HRT replacement can be a safe and effective way of turning back many symptoms of low or unbalanced hormones.  Women can be treated by a variety of different methods.  In our practice we deliver HRT with creams, pills and with pellet hormone therapy.

Hormone Pellet Therapy

Hormones such as testosterone or estrogen can be given in a small long lasting pellet at Rockwell Centers.  The pellet which is a little larger than a grain of rice is placed under the skin and delivers hormones over a 3-5 month period.  The amount of hormones that are given in the pellet is tailored to you depending on symptoms, desired result, age and weight.

We Only Prescribe Bio-Identical Hormonal Replacement Therapy for Women

Bio-identical hormones have the same molecular structure as those naturally found in our body. Because these hormones are exact replicas they mimic the pathways and signaling of normally occurring hormones in the body. The names of these hormones are testosterone, estrogen, thyroid progesterone, DHEA and pregnolone.

Conventional synthetic hormone therapy (CHT) is not identical to naturally occurring hormones. These hormones have a structure that is similar but are not exactly the same produced by our body. CHT include medications such as Premarin™, Provera™ (medroxyprogesterone acetate), Evista™, Activella™, all oral contraceptives, levonorgestrel and norethindrone.

Dr. Gittens specializes in the evaluation and treatment of women’s hormones and alleviating the symptoms of hormone deficiency.
